About the Role (Job Purpose)
We are seeking an experienced BMS & Automation Engineer to support the design, deployment, commissioning, optimisation, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation infrastructure across mission-critical data center facilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of mechanical and electrical systems through advanced monitoring, control, and automation strategies.
This position requires a strong understanding of data center environments, critical infrastructure, HVAC systems, power distribution, and industrial communication protocols.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth data center campus in Narvik, currently spanning two buildings of 25MW and 75MW. This state-of-the-art facility supports the critical infrastructure for one of the largest global organisations driving the AI revolution.
What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Design, configure, commission, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation solutions across mission-critical data center environments.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of critical infrastructure systems, including cooling, HVAC, power, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Develop, implement, and enhance control strategies to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and energy performance.
- Integrate BMS platforms with third-party systems such as CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, UPS systems, generators, leak detection, fire systems, and EPMS platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BMS, controls, and communication network issues to minimise operational risk and downtime.
- Support commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and handover processes.
- Configure and maintain alarms, trends, dashboards, reporting tools, and graphical user interfaces.
- Analyse operational data and identify opportunities for system optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including control narratives, points schedules, network architecture diagrams, and as-built records.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure systems are delivered and maintained to the highest standards.
- Support change management, incident response, and maintenance activities within a live data center environment.
