About the Role (Job Purpose)
This is a specialist role, reporting into the Facilities Director and requiring close collaboration Nscale’s global HSE team to ensure alignment on standards, practices, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
You will play a key role in shaping HSE performance by guiding, educating, and holding everyone accountable, ensuring consistent application of standards and a strong safety culture across site operations and projects.
The role involves close coordination with central HSE functions and project stakeholders, including SHA build and design teams, supporting major expansion projects at Kvandal involving both LV/HV power as well as large mechanical loads and rigorous environment control.
What You’ll be Doing (Responsibilities)
HSE Leadership & Governance
- Act as the local owner of HSE, ensuring implementation and continuous improvement of HSE practices in alignment with Nscale’s central HSE function
- Adapt and implement Nscale’s global HSE framework to the local operational environment
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies
- Maintain and develop the integrated management system (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001)
Operational HSE Delivery
- Ensure HSE systems and procedures are effectively implemented in daily operations and projects, in close collaboration with the Facility Director
- Support operations and project teams with risk assessments, HSE planning, and safety procedures
- Conduct regular safety walks and field-based verification of HSE practices
- Hold full authority to stop work where safety is compromised
Monitoring, Improvement & Culture
- Lead incident follow-up, investigations, and root cause analysis
- Monitor HSE performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Create, promote, and sustain a strong safety culture across site operations and projects

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- HSE expertise: Strong knowledge of Norwegian HSE laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Operational experience: Experience balancing safety requirements with operational and commercial considerations.
- Industry experience: Experience in large-scale critical infrastructure environments, with a strong understanding of associated risks and hazards.
- Project experience: HSE experience gained within construction, industrial, or technical project environments.
- Management systems: Knowledge of integrated management systems and ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Language skills: Professional fluency in Norwegian and English (written and spoken) is required.

- Technical project experience: Experience in data center commissioning, electrical projects, or other complex technical environments.
